Pennsylvania School For The Deaf Unionize.

Teachers and staff at the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf on Thursday voted overwhelmingly to unionize.

The American Federation of Teachers, Pennsylvania said the new union will represent approximately 175 teachers, aides, secretaries, and support staff.

The 195-year-old Pennsylvania School for the Deaf is a private school in Germantown that receives state funding. Employees said they decided to try to form a union late last year because relations between administrators and the faculty had deteriorated.
